El Gaucho’s Luxury Wine List

Exceptional Wine, Incredible Value

What’s the first word that pops into your mind when you hear, “Luxury”?  Is it treat, indulgence, or maybe extravagance?  The word value probably doesn’t come to mind, but when it comes to the Luxury Wine List at El Gaucho, it can!

Just a sampling of what you’ll find on the Luxury Wine List at El Gaucho and AQUA by El Gaucho

The Luxury Wine List is a section that debuted on all El Gaucho and AQUA by El Gaucho wine lists just over a year ago. As the story goes, El Gaucho Hospitality owner and COO, Chad Mackay, challenged his wine team (also known as the Wine Syndicate) to come up with a list of around 15 well-known and sought-after wines, at prices that would make him mad; prices so compelling that it would be hard for guests to resist.  They took on the challenge and created an elite selection of wines, for a value-priced dining experience.  Throwing the normal price model out the window, the wines offered are at a far below normal mark up as a thank you to guests who dine with us.

Guest reward is a high priority for El Gaucho Hospitality, and the Wine Syndicate works hard to offer a list that our wine-savvy guests will appreciate and value.  Much of the team’s direction is based on guest feedback and demand, as well as ongoing work with wineries and distributors, to ensure supply as much as possible.

You can find Col Solare on the Luxury Wine List at El Gaucho and AQUA by El Gaucho.

It’s a win-win for both the guests and the wineries.  For instance, since Col Solare debuted on the Luxury List at $105/bottle, El Gaucho Hospitality has become their 2012 top seller out of any restaurant group in the United States.

While the Luxury List varies slightly by location, some of the labels currently available include: ‘09 Figgins Estate, ’08 Domaine Serene Evanstad Pinot Noir, ’09 Antinori Tignanello, Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon, ’07 Col Solare, Continuum, ’09 Leonetti Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, Cakebread Cabernet Sauvignon, Caymus, and Dom Perignon.
