Join us for Hootenanny-The Hottest Waterfront Party of the Year!
Seattleites know that sunshine is always a reason to celebrate! AQUA’s signature event, Hootenanny, to be held this Saturday, showcases the best of summer in Seattle. Named one of the “Top 10 Seafood Restaurants” by Gayot 2012, AQUA’s signature appetizers will take center stage, complimented with great wines, refreshing beer, spirits, and freshly shucked oysters from Taylor Shellfish Farms at Melrose Market.
Cool DJ vibes will set the mood while guests soak in the sun on Pier 70’s expansive outdoor deck, overlooking the water and amazing Seattle views.
Now in its 13th year, Hootenanny’s style is changing a bit from year’s past. The most notable changes include the date and time – no longer an after-work event, it’s now on a Saturday afternoon, to take advantage of the mid-day sunshine Seattle has enjoyed this summer. With an end-time of 5:30, guests can enjoy the party and stay for dinner or head off to the next summer event.
The music is changing this year, too. While the Dusty 45s have provided high-energy rock-a-billy to the event in years past, this year Seattle’s BLUEYED SOUL will be spinning a distinct style of music for the event. BLUEYEDSOUL has solidified himself as formidable force in the northwest and beyond, but even more fun is that he is a
former AQUA employee, so we’re excited to welcome him back, even if only for a day.
We’re also very excited to welcome distilleries and breweries to the already amazing list of participating wineries lined up this year: Glass Vodka, Big Gin, and Woodinville Whiskey Company will all be sampling fun cocktails for guests. Mac and Jacks Brewing Company, and Hale’s Ales will provide refreshing samples of their summer brews.
While many elements for Hootenanny have changed, others remain the same: over 50 wines from over 20 wineries will be available for tasting. We’re excited to welcome Quintessa, Faust, Flowers Vineyard & Winery, Antica, and Cakebread Cellars to the already amazing participating Washington and Oregon wineries lined up to pour their finest.
“I am very excited to be bringing in California wineries this year, especially wines from Agustin Huneeus (Quintessa, Flowers, Faust, Illumination),” says AQUA by El Gaucho’s Wine Captain Lee Spires.
